Introduction

An NFT, Non-Fungible Token, is an exchangeable certificate of ownership. It can be an image, a video, an animated gif, etc. It is based on the blockchain, the same system that cryptocurrencies are based on. By distributing the same block of information (the title of ownership) on a chain of a large number of computers / servers in the world, each transaction becomes traceable and unique.

From the success of cryptocurrencies, crypto art has developed. The NFT, Non-Fungible Token, have provided the solution to two problems: making digital art – from its origins exposed to a potential infinite duplication – commercially viable, and satisfying the collector’s inalienable urge to own something rare or unique.

Welcome to the METAVERSE

The term “Metaverse” has its origins in a science fiction novel by Neal Stephenson, “Snow crash” (a novel that also popularized the term Avatar). Today it is used to define a 3D virtual world focused on social connection, like the worlds of videogames. One of our virtual aliases, avatar, can move in the Metaverse, thanks to computers, smartphones, virtual reality headsets, smart glasses, etc., to attend exhibitions, live concerts, exclusive events, playing, shopping, meeting other avatars, etc.

An amazing success

The enormous success of NFTs is based on a simple foundation: investing in something rare (and beautiful).
